About Doug


     Doug MacGregor has been a cartoonist for over 40 years.  He got his professional start drawing editorial cartoons for the Norwich Bulletin in eastern Connecticut in 1980.  

     He moved to SW Florida in 1988 and drew cartoons and illustrations for the News- Press in Fort Myers until June of 2011.

     Doug is a 1979 graduate of Syracuse University. His editorial cartoons are archived at the Syracuse, Ohio State and Florida Gulf Coast Univiersity libraries.

     He was Arts in Healthcare Coordinator for Lee Health from 2012 to October of 2023. Doug currently volunteers his time at Golisano Children's Hospital drawing cartoons with young patients.

     Doug is also a children's book writer and illustrator. He has self-published six books including his Turtellini, The Turbo -Charged Turtle,  Turtellini's Amazing Sky-High Adventures, Morgan McKinney's Bigger-Than-Life Bedtime Story, Rad Hair Day, Ochre The Smoker, and Get Creative, Turn On The Bright Side Of Your Brain.

     Doug is also a musician playing in local classic 60s and 70s rock band, The Rosada Project. He has also written his own music.
